Lukashenko on "Ustye" farm: it is a model for all of Belarus

The Head of State stated this during a visit to the "Ustenskiy" dairy complex of RUP "Ustye" of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the Orsha district. After hearing the report of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Gusakov, on the work done to restore the "Ustye" farm, which was once advanced and later fell into decline, Alexander Lukashenko concluded that it has now become a model not only for the Vitebsk region:

 

– But for all of Belarus as a whole. A diversified farm. Invested money, well done! Lost nothing. Frugally.

During the report, they also discussed the economics of building modern dairy complexes like "Ustenskiy", as well as allocating additional land for the needs of the "Ustye" farm.

Vladimir Gusakov also informed the President about the construction of a seed plant, which will provide high-quality seeds for the entire Mogilev and Vitebsk regions. As noted during the report, such enterprises are an element of the country's biosecurity.

– Excellent. The entire east! This is very reasonable, this is your area, – the President praised. – We need to build such plants.

The Head of State once again drew attention to discipline and the implementation of technologies at all stages of agricultural work, without which the construction of such plants would be meaningless.

Alexander Lukashenko, moreover, expressed his conviction that the results of enterprises' work depend not on the form of ownership. The President noted that a private owner can simply lure good specialists from state enterprises, and they will help him improve performance.

 

– Where there is order, discipline, and technology, there will be results. It doesn't matter if it's private or state property. I am not against one or the other. But one must approach it fairly before cutting the land into pieces and distributing it to someone, – the President noted. – It is good that you have preserved large farms. If a private owner comes in time – so be it! But deliver results. And work according to the rules.

The Head of State was informed about the results of work on creating Belarusian breeds of grain, leguminous, technical, and cereal crops. The Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agriculture has achieved good results in this area, and the yields are high.

Alexander Lukashenko also tasted hypoallergenic milk and dairy products made from it, obtained at the new "Ustenskiy" dairy complex. He also familiarized himself with the organization of the complex for breeding pedigree Danish Red cattle and the use of innovative milking equipment. In particular, the Head of State showed keen interest in the conditions of animal keeping, and the specifics of caring for cows and calves.

The construction of the new dairy complex cost 34 million rubles. It was commissioned at the end of last year. The dairy complex facilities are designed for 1,000 milking cows and 200 dry cows. A six-stall "Herringbone" unit is used for milking, and a "Carousel" for the main herd. There are many milking parlors with carousel milking units on Belarusian farms, but, as stated at the enterprise, this is the first robotic one. It is designed for 40 cows.

Currently, the National Academy of Sciences is considering another such dairy complex, but state support is needed.

– Calculate and tell me the price. We need to approach it optimally. If a piece of land is needed, I will advise, – the President told the head of the National Academy of Sciences.

According to the President, this experience should also be extended to the Shklov holding "Kupalovskoye". The issue will be worked out.

– Such complexes should be built in every region, – Alexander Lukashenko summed up. – This experience must be disseminated.

For the President, this is the third working trip of the week. On Tuesday, the Head of State visited Lida, where he saw firsthand how coronavirus patients are treated in our country and how our hospitals help patients with other diseases. On Friday, he visited Dobrush, where he familiarized himself with the work of a large industrial enterprise – the Dobrush Paper Mill "Hero of Labor".
