The Minister of Culture assessed the progress of work on preparing Vitebsk for summer international events
During a working trip, the Minister of Culture of Belarus Anatoly Markevich visited today the main sites of the regional center, which are being prepared to host participants and guests of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, as well as the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".
The Vitebsk Concert Hall has almost completed work on the external areas, with all efforts concentrated on internal work.
According to the General Director of OJSC Stroytrust No. 9, Andrey Golubev, the round hall and its foyer, as well as the cloakroom and buffet, are in a high degree of readiness – these facilities will be commissioned among the first. As for the central foyer and the administrative and household complex, they will be ready by the end of May. There are no interruptions in the supply of materials; up to 270 specialists work at the Vitebsk Concert Hall daily, including weekends, stated Andrey Golubev.
Anatoly Markevich assessed the organization and dynamics of construction work at the sites of the Summer Amphitheatre and the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall.
– Entering Vitebsk, one can immediately feel the scale of preparatory work in anticipation of important international events. The tasks are very serious, and judging by the activity of the builders, everyone is aware of their responsibility. So we don't see any particular problems: everything is going according to plan, and the work is being done on schedule. We must give credit to the people of Vitebsk for the high-quality organization of the process, thanks to which the resources necessary to put the facilities in order were found. So there is no doubt that all facilities will be functionally ready on time and with high quality. The people of Vitebsk are great! – noted Anatoly Markevich.

In the renovated Summer Amphitheatre, guests will feel the beauty and originality of Belarusian culture, get acquainted with our traditions, and also appreciate the best creative groups from Russia, so everyone will get a charge of energy and positivity, – is confident Anatoly Markevich.
As explained by the director of the State Enterprise "UKS of the city of Vitebsk" Artur Strod, at this stage, the backstage area of the Summer Amphitheatre is being put in order, in particular, the roof and foundation are being updated. In parallel, the facilities of the cultural and sports complex of the amphitheatre are being reconstructed. The estimated cost of work at the Summer Amphitheatre is 17.5 mimillions of rubles, including the second stage, which is planned to begin in August-September. Then it will be necessary to update the forum roof: completely replace the polycarbonate coating, treat and repaint the metal structures, and install decorative lighting. In addition, in the four lower sectors, seats will be replaced and a polymer floor covering will be arranged.
