The Minister for Emergency Situations paid a working visit to the Vitebsk region
From a bird's-eye view, together with the crew of a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation, he had the opportunity to assess the fire hazard situation in the region.
After visiting the aviation detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, based at the Ozierki airfield in the Postavy district, meeting with personnel, and awarding distinguished employees, the head of the department held a series of meetings in Polotsk. The minister's attention was drawn to the site of the reconstructed fire and rescue station. Here, on the instructions of the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, Vadim Synyavsky met with representatives of the developer and the design organization. The reconstruction of the historical building is proceeding simultaneously with restoration. The most prominent part of the fire station, built in 1927, is the 33-meter-high watchtower, the high-rise dominant feature of the entire historical center. Rescuers and builders discussed the progress of repair and restoration work, problematic issues, and ways to resolve them.
Vadim Synyavsky also visited facilities for the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be held on June 27-28 in the Vitebsk region. In particular, he visited the Polotsk State University and the former House of Officers, which officially transferred to the university. Renovation and reconstruction are also underway here. During the meeting with PSU Rector Yuri Romanovsky, the main emphasis was placed on the fire safety status of the facilities and readiness to ensure all necessary measures for the safe and comfortable conduct of this significant event uniting the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
