The mural 'The Future of Belarus is in Your Hands' appeared in Vitebsk
The mural, depicting the outline of Belarus, is supported by three palms – male, female, and child – decorated with BRSM branded bracelets.
The project was successfully implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the Republican Headquarters of Student Teams of the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union," the Vitebsk Regional Headquarters of Student Teams, as well as the Vitebsk Regional and City Executive Committees.
Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Alexey Geroev noted that the new art object symbolizes the importance of personal responsibility of each of us for the future.
– The "Marathon of Unity" has once again shown that the youth and the more mature generation are united by a common goal – to do everything possible to strengthen our country, – concluded Alexey Geroev.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of BRSM, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Alexander Lukyanov noted that thanks to the coordinated work of the organizing committee of the "Marathon of Unity," the project's events continue to develop, introducing new elements, meetings, and venues. The opening of the art object and the quest "This is all my native land" in Vitebsk will be bright events that gathered many participants.
– The uniqueness of today's opening lies in the fact that we are simultaneously launching an art object and inviting citizens and guests of Vitebsk to take part in a quest. This is a great opportunity for everyone to share their knowledge about the city and, of course, to enjoy the spirit of competition, – said Alexander Lukyanov. – The art object is not just graffiti, but a symbol that reminds everyone that the future of our country depends on us, Belarusians. Belarus begins with the family, and it is up to us what our future will be. The elements presented in the art object reflect the hierarchy of the region, the logo of the Youth Union, and the symbolism of student detachments, emphasizing the importance of our unity.
The youth leader of Belarus emphasized that in the current complex international situation, Belarusians need to unite. The "Unity Marathon" is a cultural and educational project that helps each of us become closer to our roots and to each other. Despite the cool November, the warmth of hearts and smiles that participants of the "Unity Marathon" give create an atmosphere of unity and mutual understanding.
