"We are responsible for the Victory." The Institute of the Border Service of Belarus is holding an essay competition for young people aged 13-17

The Border Guard Institute of the Republic of Belarus is holding a literary competition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War as part of the patriotic project "Having stepped into immortality with their courage," reported the official representative of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, Denis Glebko.

This is a tribute to the memory of border guards who were the first to bear the brunt of the German fascist invaders in 1941 and became an example of heroism, resilience, and selfless devotion to the Motherland.

Previously unpublished individual works are accepted for participation – no more than one essay per author. Several questions are offered for developing the theme:

• The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family and my region;
• border guard veterans in my family;
• what do the archives say (about the fates of border guards, border detachments in the war and pre-war periods);
• a book, a feature film about the Great Patriotic War that influenced me;
• the participation of the youth of my school, street in preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War, of the feat of border guards.

Essays with completed applications for participation in the competition are accepted until April 16 by email. Do not forget to include the mandatory subject line "We are responsible for Victory." The works will be judged by a jury, which, in addition to representatives of the border service, will include members of the Union of Writers of Belarus. The award ceremony for the winners will take place in May. Prize-winners will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.

The competition is held with the aim of fostering patriotic feelings in youth, preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, immortalizing the feat of border guards in the initial stage of the Great Patriotic War, developing the creative abilities of youth, and identifying gifted students.
