On the home stretch – Natalya Kochanova familiarized herself with the preparation of objects in Polotsk and Novopolotsk for the Forum of Regions

A working meeting on the organization and holding of sectional meetings of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia was held in Polotsk with the participation of representatives of regional and local authorities and employees of the Secretariat of the Council of the Republic assigned to specific facilities. The Chairman of the upper house of Parliament, Natalya Kochanova, focused the attention of all participants on the need to use every opportunity for the high-quality preparation of all facilities to receive guests:

– We have reached the final stretch in this work, the stage when everything must be perfected. Now our goal is to analyze what has already been done, carefully examine the real state of affairs, and discuss what issues still remain. We need to concentrate all our efforts in this direction. At the same time, this issue must be approached comprehensively, without overlooking anything, and acting promptly. We have no right to lose a single favorable day. Seize every opportunity when the weather permits to put all facilities in order.

Natalya Kochanova also reminded that a Russian delegation will soon arrive in Polotsk to familiarize themselves on-site with the facilities planned to be used in holding an important event in the life of our country.

There is not much time left before the start of the forum – two and a half months, and there is still a lot to be done, added the Chairman of the Council of the Republic. Significant efforts, in her opinion, should be devoted to the improvement and aestheticization of the urban environment of Polotsk and Novopolotsk:

– We need to prepare at the highest level. Everything should be blooming and fragrant near each facility.

A special burden of responsibility falls on the shoulders of Polotsk residents. The ancient city must match its glorious history and leave a corresponding impression on guests, Natalya Kochanova is convinced:

– Polotsk is our tourist Mecca. People have come and will continue to come here. Therefore, everything here should breathe history. Each object must be in perfect condition. Along with this, it is important to take care of the variety of souvenir products, which should be plentiful. It should be interesting so that everyone wants to take a souvenir home as a keepsake.

A significant amount of work needs to be done in preparation for the forum in Novopolotsk, which will host youth delegations from twin cities. Currently, participants from eight regions of the Russian Federation are expected. At the suggestion of Natalya Kochanova, the representation of twin cities will be expanded:

– We need to invite young people from other twin cities of the Vitebsk region to participate in the forum events as well. We must show them our museums, attractions, and what unites us.
