Vitebsk will allocate 346 thousand rubles for the replacement of street lighting in 2024

The state enterprise "Gorsvet" of Vitebsk must replace old lamps with LED ones throughout the city by 2026. As of January 1, this work has been completed by more than 56 percent. This was reported by the director of the enterprise, Vasily Belousov.

According to him, a total of about 31.8 thousand luminaires were subject to replacement:

– The replacement of luminaires will allow the city to save electricity at least three times. In 2023, 7 thousand lamps were replaced. As of January 1, more than 56 percent have been updated – 17.8 thousand luminaires, with about 14 thousand remaining. For this year, 346 thousand rubles have been allocated to the enterprise for these purposes.

The renewal of the vehicle fleet will help speed up the replacement of old lamps with LED ones. Today, two new VIPO-18-01 aerial platforms based on MAZ "Cornet" vehicles, manufactured by the enterprise "Vitstroytekhmash", were handed over to SE "Gorsvet". The keys to the brand-new special equipment, purchased at the expense of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, were presented by the mayor of the city, Gennady Sabinich:

– Vitebsk enterprises are actively engaged in updating their special equipment fleet. The quality of services provided to the population depends on this. Today is a landmark day for the "Gorsvet" enterprise. In just a few months, the fleet of aerial platforms has doubled, which will allow for faster work on lighting courtyards, central highways, and the construction of new lighting in residential areas.
