Natalia Kochanova: "Everything that is done in our country has always been traditional for us Belarusians, who are distinguished by high spirituality."
– Communicating with families, I made several notes for myself that resonate with our society. The past meeting showed that there are no issues that need to be discussed again. We need to say that everything that is being done in our country has always been traditional for us Belarusians, distinguished by high spirituality. Families openly shared their opinions and suggestions. In particular, about the status of a woman, who should remain a woman. That is, to correspond to the purpose inherent in her. We will talk about this in the Belarusian Women's Union, of which I am a member. This should become one of the fundamental directions of activity of this public organization, – noted Natalya Kochanova.
The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic emphasized that the support of families, childhood, motherhood and fatherhood, and all measures taken in the country are aimed at making Belarusian families strong.
According to sociological surveys, the average Belarusian dreams of a family with two or three children. Today, every third family has two children. The number of large families has increased by almost 70%, and in total, there are more than 122 thousand such families in the country. According to the criteria of favorable conditions for motherhood and childbirth, Belarus ranks 25th among 179 countries worldwide and first among the CIS countries.
In Belarus, a significant role is assigned to the legislative framework for preserving traditional family values. The participation of representatives of local authorities, enterprise managers, and public organizations is no less important. It is necessary to create legal frameworks for the family as a key institution of civil society. Socially active, positive, goal-oriented families, in which people loyal to their land, their people, their state live, who have principles, beliefs, and faith, are the support of the state in consolidating society and a guarantee of the further dynamic development of our country, the speaker is convinced.
Addressing the clergy, Natalya Kochanova said:
– Our joint efforts are primarily aimed at caring for people and helping those in need, preserving traditional values, fostering the spiritual and moral development of society, and strengthening the ideological foundations of Belarusian statehood.
The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic emphasized that family policy should become one of the main directions of state and public activity.
– May all marital and family relationships in our country be of high quality, and may traditional family values become a national brand of Belarus, – the speaker concluded.
