Nikolai Sherstnev: Gasification of small settlements is a contribution to their future development
This year, the regional "Dazhynki-2021" festival will be held in Shumilino, but the district and regional leadership is paying attention not only to the transformation of the current capital of agricultural workers. A great gift was made for the residents of Yazvino - a village that welcomes guests of the district arriving from the direction of Vitebsk. "The gasification of such settlements and villages located near major highways helps their development. There is not a single example where life in a settlement stopped after the arrival of natural gas; on the contrary, it becomes a step towards development. Therefore, I believe that today we are making a contribution to the future of Yazvino," noted the chairman of the regional executive committee.
A gas pipeline with a length of 9.2 km was built in Yazvino. The cost of design and construction, according to the expert conclusion, amounted to more than Br1.2 million, but in fact, slightly more than Br1 million was spent on the project implementation, with savings of over Br220 thousand. The designer was the Vitebsk branch of the State Enterprise "NII Belgiprotgaz", and the contractor was OJSC "Belgazstroy" represented by UP "Vitebskgazstroy" and UP "Polotskgazstroy". In the village, where about 400 residents live, including summer residents, 4 apartment buildings (24 apartments) were converted to natural gas, previously supplied from a liquefied gas tank installation. In the future, more than 220 private households and a local agricultural enterprise specializing in cattle breeding will be connected to the supply gas pipeline.
In general, more than 190 km of gas networks are operated in the Shumilino district. Natural gas has been supplied to 11 rural settlements and 5 out of 8 agro-towns.
