A new broiler shop floor has opened at the Vitebsk poultry farm
The broiler meat production facility includes 14 poultry houses built from energy-efficient materials (each accommodating 48,000 broiler chickens). The facility utilizes floor-based chick rearing technology, is equipped with modern, high-quality technological equipment, and is significantly distanced from other poultry facilities of the farm. This ensures the biological safety of production in compliance with the "Empty - Occupied" technology.
"Floor-based housing is a more modern stage in the development of poultry farming. All large enterprises are developing along this path, and cage equipment is already banned in many countries. Birds in floor-based housing do not experience stress, so the meat is environmentally friendly, tasty, and high-quality," noted the deputy general director of the poultry farm, Alexey Kirnoz.
The design capacity of the facility is 11.5 thousand tons of poultry meat in live weight per year. An additional 27 new jobs have been created here, including those related to high-productivity positions.

In particular, this is the 'Agrarian Business' program for 2021-2025. Thanks to this program, there is a significant compensation today - 25% of the capital costs. This is very important, which is why we dared to take such a step - we modernized our production and continue to do so," noted Anna Norkus, General Director of Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory. "At all stages of the program implementation, support was provided on time, and there was always full understanding."
Such sites will allow broiler workshop No. 3 to be loaded. For it to operate at full capacity - in two shifts (currently it's only 1-1.5 shifts), the poultry farm needs to build two more such sites. The uniqueness of the facility, according to the general director, lies in the technology itself - feeding, ventilation, lighting, and heating systems. Everything works automatically. "Everything is displayed on the central console of the dispatcher and security guard - all 14 poultry houses with a territory of almost a kilometer, where the employee can see everything that is happening inside. This is also displayed on the mobile phones of specialists. They, being at home, can see how the process is going and what issues there are. The facility will provide additional revenue, profit, and the opportunity for further development," emphasized Anna Norkus.
The construction of a new broiler workshop site near Kurino became a continuation of the factory's large-scale development plan under the state program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025. This program is aimed at modernizing production, increasing capacity, and reducing costs.
The workshop platform construction began in August 2022 and was completed ahead of schedule – in one year, saving about 40% of the funds (initially 25 months were allocated for this). According to the design and estimate documentation, the cost of the process amounted to Br118.7 million, with the main funding coming from credit funds.
"This is a significant facility not only for the Vitebsk region but for the entire country. It is a vivid example and a benchmark of how, in these challenging conditions, to build such serious facilities, and secondly, how to build them, saving time twice over. And, importantly, more than 40% of the money planned for this facility has been saved. This is an example of how one can and should build, counting money and having a thrifty approach to all stages: from design to final construction. One needs to be attentive everywhere, and then there will be success like this," said Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin. He also wished the enterprise to continue to develop progressively, ahead of schedule and surprising everyone.
After the grand opening of the platform, the event participants visited the new production facilities and familiarized themselves with the poultry farming technology.
JSC "Vitebskaya Broiler Poultry Factory," the largest poultry meat producer and processor in the northern region, remains at the leading positions in crop production and dairy farming. Today, the workforce of the diversified agro-industrial company exceeds 4,000 people.
Within the framework of the state program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025, the enterprise has invested over Br300 million. The factory has completed the construction and commissioned workshops for slaughtering and processing poultry, cattle, as well as a seed drying and sorting line at the "Yanovichy" agro-complex, and broiler workshop No. 3.
