New buses and trams will arrive in the Vitebsk region

The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, together with OJSC "Vitebskoblautotrans", is carrying out work on the procurement of vehicles for the cities of the Vitebsk region. It is planned to purchase 12 MAZ-216 buses of increased capacity and 26 MAZ-257 buses, as well as 2 BKM T811 tram cars.

– MAZ-257 suburban buses will arrive in almost all districts of the region, – informed Viktor Kozhukh. – By the way, similar buses (10 units) were purchased for Vitebsk in the spring of 2023, they operate on regular routes of the regional center and the Vitebsk region. New MAZ-216 buses are planned to be used in Vitebsk. They will replace worn-out MAZ-105 vehicles with articulated bodies. Such buses are currently used on regular passenger routes in the Vitebsk region only in Novopolotsk. New trams will also operate in the regional center.

As the interlocutor added, the mentioned buses and trams are expected to arrive in the Vitebsk region within a year.
