Winners of the "Achievement" youth award were named in the Vitebsk region
The names of the laureates of the BRSM Youth Prize "Achievement" for 2023 have been announced in the Vitebsk region. The award ceremony took place at the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov.
More than two dozen applicants were awarded – schoolchildren, college students, university students, and working youth. In total, the organizing committee received over 200 applications, and more than 40 were selected for the final. According to the organizers, this year there were fifty more applications than last year.
For the first time, individual collectives, young heads of cultural institutions, directors, and choreographers were recognized in the "Creative Youth" category. The work of those ensuring food security was evaluated in the "Youth for Labor" nomination. And the "Heroes of Our Time" included law enforcement officers and healthcare workers saving human lives. The best were also determined in the nominations "Media Youth," "Youth in Sports," "Mentor for Youth," and "Achievement."
The "Hero of Our Time" award was presented to traffic police officers Danila Savochkin and Artem Obukhov. The traffic police inspectors of the inter-district department remembered the first day of 2024 in minute detail. They were on duty on Tereshkova Street in Vitebsk. "We noticed a vehicle turning from Moskovsky Avenue at high speed with its hazard lights on. The driver attracted our attention. We turned around and drove after him to check his physical condition, as there had been New Year's holidays the day before. The driver got out and asked for assistance," recalls Artem Obukhov. It turned out that the driver's child was in the car. The boy had injured his neck and required emergency medical assistance. The traffic police officers escorted the car to the hospital, where the child was successfully operated on. "I think anyone in my place would have done the same," Artem Obukhov modestly remarked.
The main "Achievement" prize was awarded to several applicants, including the student construction team "Eureka" named after the Hero of the Soviet Union V.I.Еronko. Last summer, for the second time, the team worked on an international youth construction project at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. "In

In the second year, we arrived more confident in our abilities and knowledge, but we worked at the Angara launch complex, which will be launched soon. The work was not construction-related: the guys assembled modules, installed loudspeakers, meaning it was even more responsible. She added that working as part of a student squad is hard and energy-consuming, and the fighters must truly live the youth movement.
