The regional exhibition "100 Ideas for Belarus" gathered more than 50 projects in Vitebsk

Областная выставка "100 идей для Беларуси" собрала в Витебске более 50 проектов
Solar grill oven, polite trash can, electronic shooting range, orchestra of LEGO robots, healing cocktail of sounds and aromas: over 50 projects are presented at the regional stage of the republican youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus".

The Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education became a youth territory of innovation and initiatives. Schoolchildren, gymnasium students, and working youth presented their developments in the regional round of the competition.

– Over 200 projects passed through the district qualifying rounds. The expert council was presented with developments that cover almost all spheres of life: agro-industrial technologies and farming, healthcare, ecology, social sphere, and others, – noted Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM. – The main thing we focus on is that each project must find a place for implementation. Therefore, we have selected an expert team from different fields who can mentor the brilliant ideas of young innovators.

Innovators were given five minutes to defend their work, present their development, and answer experts' questions. For example, Elizaveta Ivanova, under the guidance of teachers Evgeny Krupnik and Natalia Sushinskaya from the Oktyabrskaya Secondary School of the Vitebsk District named after I. Sobolev, invented a personal guide "SamSebeGid" (Self-Guide). Using a virtual tour in the application, one can travel to places of historical memory, learn about memorial complexes and attractions, and plot routes to them.

Sergey Sakhankov, a student of the Vitebsk State Technical College, presented the "polite trash can".

– The body consists of a plastic container with a movable lid, which has a motion sensor installed. If you bring your hand close to it, the trash can will open to dispose of waste, and when the lid closes, it will politely say "thank you," – said Sergey.

Stanislav Klepitsky and Andrey Aksenenko, students from Secondary School No. 2 in Dubrovno, along with a student from Polotsk State University named after E. Polotskaya, developed a "LEGO Robot Orchestra." This project involves touring Belarusian schools with performances by the LEGO robot orchestra and master classes where every spectator can learn to program a robot musician.

The names of the winners who will advance to the republican final of the "100 Ideas for Belarus" project will be announced by the jury today during the summing up of the results.
