“Very tasty. Very!” Alexander Lukashenko familiarized himself with cheese production in Postavy

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited a local dairy plant during his trip to Postavy.

At the enterprise, the head of state familiarized himself with the cheese production process and also tasted several types of products.

At the plant, the President was also shown new beef sausages from the Glubokoye Meat Processing Plant. "We can do everything!" - the head of state assessed.

"And it's tasty too!" - added the governor of the Vitebsk region, Alexander Subbotin.

An agro-industrial association of 6 organizations has been created on the basis of the Postavy Dairy Plant (a total of 137 organizations are covered by the integration experiment in the Vitebsk region). For January-July, the association received over Br100 million in revenue from product sales, which is a third more than last year's level. Sales profitability was almost 15%.

The Postavy Dairy Plant began operations in 1963 as a skimmed milk powder plant. However, the first archival information about a milk processing enterprise in the city dates back to pre-war sources. Therefore, July 1, 1939, is considered the birth date of the milk processing plant.

In the late 80s, the enterprise was transferred to the Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant as a production unit, which was involved in receiving milk from farms.

In 2013, the plant launched the production of hard cheeses. Currently, this product is the main one in the production structure: cheese production accounts for over 72%. Almost 14% is whole milk product production, and 10.4% is butter.

The President visited the dairy farm of Khotily-Agro OJSC, where the head of state was informed about the progress of the harvesting campaign in the country and the Vitebsk region. Alexander Lukashenko is checking how the agro-industrial complexes of the northern region of the country are working, and a large meeting on the state of the agricultural sector is also taking place.
