About a billion rubles will be invested in the renovation of the Vitebsk Regional Hospital
According to him, the renovation will affect existing facilities and also involves the construction of new ones. In particular, it concerns the surgical building, where construction work began a month ago. It will be an eight-story building with an admission department. The building will include a diagnostic unit for patients and 19 operating rooms. Doctors will be able to perform high-tech surgeries of various profiles there – neurosurgery, traumatology, cardiac surgery, vascular and endovascular surgery, etc. The facility will be connected to the main building via a second-floor passage, Alexander Subbotin said:
- We are the last of the regions to join the work on renovating the regional hospital. But we will try to create one of the best medical centers in the country, equipped with the most modern technologies, equipment, and staffed with highly qualified specialists. We have everything for this. Because it will not only be a hospital but also a research center and departments of the medical university. Ideally, we want to unite all the main components under the auspices of the hospital – training of specialists, a research center, a treatment base, and the implementation of innovations. And most importantly, to create comfortable conditions here for every person who comes here to work or be treated.
Construction will gain momentum in the near future. The facility is planned to be built by the end of next year, and fully launched by the spring of 2025. The total volume of investments for the entire complex of renovation works at the hospital will be about 1 billion rubles.
The project implementation will be a powerful stimulus for the development of the healthcare sector in the region, as well as attract new specialists, is convinced the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital Evgeny Matusevich:
- With the opening of the new building, new jobs will be created. For example, we will need 20 resuscitators alone, not to mention other specialists – doctors and mid-level medical personnel. Staff training has already begun.
