The first group of children from the Vitebsk region has gone for health improvement in Lithuania after a two-year break

The first group of children from the Vitebsk region recently departed for health resort treatment at the "Belarus" sanatorium in Druskininkai, Lithuania, after a two-year hiatus. This was reported by Snezhana Titova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Resort Treatment and Recreation of the Population.

As a reminder, the first buses with Belarusian children departed for health resort treatment in Lithuania in late November 2021. The resumption of reception after a long pause, caused by the imposition of sanctions by the European Union, was preceded by joint measures on the part of the Republican Center for Health Resort Treatment and Recreation of the Population, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and other interested parties.

– It is important that the barriers have finally been lifted, and now 43 children from our region have the opportunity to undergo sanatorium treatment at this health resort in the Baltic region through free vouchers, thanks to state subsidies. "Belarus" is an important link in the domestic rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and recovery from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, and a number of other pathologies. The current group is primarily focused on programs for the restoration of the respiratory system. The children will undergo a course from December 11 to 31, – noted Snezhana Titova.

By the way, previously the sanatorium in Druskininkai annually received from 500 to a thousand boys and girls from the Vitebsk region.
