The first youth thousand-ton crew was honored in the Vitebsk region
Konstantin Drabo is a young specialist who came to the agro-complex for mandatory work after graduating from the Vitebsk State Technical College. The crew is currently working in the fields near the village of Tarasenko, Konstantin's native village.
According to the young man, working during the harvest is not difficult for him, although he gets up at 6:30 AM and comes home after 10:00 PM. "I did my internship at the farm and decided to stay for mandatory work. They welcomed me well, and it's closer to home, I know everyone," said 18-year-old Konstantin.
His colleague, Alexander Fyodorov, is 30 years old and has been working at the farm for about seven years. This is his second harvest in his career. "Working with Kostya is fine. He's young, of course, he still needs guidance and help. Everything is easy for me in grain harvesting, I love working in agriculture," he added.
Igor Lukyanov, director of the M.F. Silnitsky Agro-complex, said that this year the farm's yield is higher than last year's – 42 centners per hectare. 40% of the 6,000 hectares of crops have been harvested, and 14 combines are involved in the fields. "The agro-complex has guys with a maniacal desire to work, they are eager to fight, which sometimes the equipment cannot withstand," he said. By this evening, the young crew may have threshed 1.4 thousand tons.
Young agrarians were congratulated in the field by Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM, and Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee. They presented them with certificates and gifts, thanked the workers for their labor during the hot days, and wished them to quickly reach the threshing volume of 2 thousand tons.
As of the morning of July 29, 106.5 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in the Vitebsk region out of 344.8 thousand hectares of sown areas. In Belarus, 517 youth crews are involved in the harvesting campaign, of which seven thousand-tonners have already been identified. Young agrarians have harvested more than 97 thousand tons of grain to date.-0-
