The first thousand-crew in the Vitebsk region became father and son Laptinsky
Father and son Valentin and Vladislav Laptinsky were the first in the northern region to exceed the thousand-ton grain harvest mark. They have been working together for the fourth season, entrusted with powerful imported machinery. The elder in the crew is the son, Vladislav. "We need to promote young people, and I'll help in any way I can. We decided that he would be the combine operator, and I would be his assistant," said Valentin Laptinsky, who has been in agriculture for 27 years.
Vladislav started as a combine operator's assistant during school holidays. At work, he and his father do everything together and understand each other perfectly. "We get up early and work late. The weather still allows us to earn, so we are working to the maximum," added the son.
Dmitry Krukovsky, Deputy General Director of Mezhevo-Agro, noted that the Laptinsky tandem is one of the best, consistently taking leading positions in the region and being honored at the "Dazhynki" festival. "They are responsible workers, working from morning till night: they harvest as much as possible according to the technology," said Dmitry Krukovsky. This year, Mezhevo-Agro is harvesting 2080 hectares of winter crops and 1 thousand hectares of spring crops. Winter wheat is showing good yields. Nine combines go out to the fields every day.
In the Vitebsk region, almost a quarter of the areas have been harvested to date. This year is particularly atypical compared to last year's campaigns. "As of this morning, 23.5% of the areas have been harvested, while last year on this date it was 5%. The specificity is that the harvesting of winter rapeseed, grains, and fodder procurement has been happening in parallel. All this affects the workload of specialists. The average yield in the region is 29 centners per hectare, with 237 thousand tons of grain threshed. Approximately 1.1 thousand harvesters are involved in the fields daily, and almost 1.4 thousand units of equipment are used for grain transportation," said Boris Efremov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Workers from city enterprises are also helping the villagers. The region plans to reach 70% of harvested areas by August 10.
A total of six thousand-ton crews are currently operating in the Vitebsk region. Today, combine operator Alexey Kapashilov from SPC "Larinovka" was also honored. After lunch, young driver Dmitry Ivanov from OJSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm," who was the first in the northern region to transport over 1,000 tons of grain, will be congratulated. Notably, he celebrates his 30th birthday today.
