Plus one hectare. The Vitebsk region joined the republican campaign "Give the forest new life"
- Traditionally, we are used to planting forests in the spring. This year, our President set the tone for an autumn campaign. One of the reasons is the hurricane that hit us in the summer. At that time, the epicenter of windfalls and fallen trees was Gomel region. In our region, more than a hundred hectares of forest were felled. The misfortune that occurred stimulated us to pay even closer attention to forest renewal, - emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin.
The head of the region noted that although the area of the restored forest is small - one hectare, thousands of trees were planted on it, and they will delight future generations.
- It is pleasant that no one even has to be invited to participate in the campaign, people themselves gladly go to the forest to plant trees. Such events allow the team to change the environment, work together, communicate and get closer – to become even more monolithic, - emphasized Alexander Subbotin.
- These are experienced people who know how to properly establish forest crops. Before the start of the campaign, we showed the results of forest restoration from last and позапрошлого years. These include areas where employees of the regional executive committee worked.
Recall that a republican voluntary campaign "Give the forest new life" has been held in the country since October 12. It was personally launched by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a working trip to his small homeland in the Shklovsky district. The campaign is aimed at restoring forest areas affected by the hurricane.
