Under the leadership of the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, a meeting of the Vitebsk region defense council was held
– On the one hand, such events are held in our country annually on a planned basis, and on the other hand, they are a response to the worsening military-political situation around our country and growing external threats. The practical elaboration of the exercise plan will take place in Vitebsk, Vitebsk, Orsha and Chashniksky districts, – noted the Chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin.
The peculiarity of the exercises lies not only in the standard algorithm for deploying territorial defense and building defense lines. For the first time, the formation of people's militia detachments for the defense of settlements in the Novkinsky village council of the Vitebsk region and in the territory of the Baransky city council of the Orsha region will be tested.
– Everyone is set for productive work, which will allow for higher quality learning and training, – emphasized Alexander Subbotin.
The Head of the Territorial Defense Department – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Kravchenko, noted that issues of territorial defense in the interests of ensuring the defense capability of our state are given great attention at all levels of the state management system.
– Within the framework of the exercises, we plan to work through the entire complex of territorial defense tasks. Special attention will be paid to the work of management bodies at command posts, practicing practical issues of countering enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups, protecting the most important facilities, and ensuring law and order throughout the region, – noted Andrey Kravchenko. – It is worth noting that this year the formation of popular militia detachments in our country has already acquired a systematic character, and almost all regions have worked through this issue during the planning cycle of the academic year. Now it is the turn of the Vitebsk region. I am confident that the objectives of the exercise will be fully achieved.
