Production of import-substituting products in the Vitebsk region is planned to increase by 4.8% in 2023

In the Vitebsk region, active work is underway to develop new types of import-substituting products, both for the domestic market and through cooperation with Russian companies. In 2023, the volume of such products is planned to be increased by 4.8%.

"For January-September 2022, the volume of import-substituting products manufactured amounted to $737.5 million, which is 14.1% higher than the figure for the same period in 2021. For 9 months, products from enterprises in the northern region were exported for $497.6 million. The conditional saving of foreign currency due to the supply of products to the domestic market amounted to $91.6 million. For 2023, the task has been set to ensure a 4.8% increase in the volume of import-substituting products compared to the 2022 level," the regional executive committee noted.

In 2022, import substitution efforts were actively pursued at the leading enterprises of the region. For example, the "Evistor" plant mastered electromechanical devices and components for the "Rostselmash" combine plant. One of the enterprises began producing small-sized current and voltage transformers of 0.66-1 kV for installation in feeders for the Sverdlovsk Transformer Plant.

Specialists also noted that in 2023, it is planned to ensure an overall increase in industrial production volumes by 1.7% compared to 2022 through the production and sale of products, including import-substituting ones, both domestically and in the markets of friendly countries. Work will continue on building new logistics chains and settlement systems. An increase in the share of added value in production volume is planned to be achieved through modernization and technical re-equipment of existing capacities.
