A seminar-meeting with the management staff of precinct commissions for the election of the President of Belarus was held at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Election Commission Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee Andrey Lyubimov.
Alexander Subbotin thanked everyone present for participating in the election campaign, including the chairmen and secretaries of the precinct election commissions of several districts, who will directly organize the voting process on the ground.
– Elections are a key political event that will determine the future of all of Belarus, which is especially important given what is happening on the world political stage, – emphasized Alexander Subbotin. – The attention of tens of thousands of citizens is now focused on you and your work. You know perfectly well how important and, at times, difficult it is, despite external pressure, to remain loyal to the law and the Belarusian people. And you are undoubtedly coping with this. Work calmly, confidently; in case of emergency situations, law enforcement officers will come to your aid.
– A large number of commission members are involved in general, so over four days, we will hold such events in four territorial zones to maximize coverage of the region, – said Dmitry Khoma. – Chairpersons and secretaries of precinct election commissions, who will directly organize the voting process on the ground, will take part in them. As of today, lists of citizens eligible to participate in the elections should have been finally formed. Every citizen has the right to check from today whether they are included in the list. This is a key moment. The setup of polling stations is completed, and tomorrow is the last day when materials about the presidential candidates must be posted there. The task of the regional commission is to ensure that every citizen residing in the Vitebsk region can exercise their electoral right and that equal conditions are created for everyone: both for voters and for presidential candidates.
Within the established deadlines, 26 territorial commissions (regional, 21 district, Novopolotsk city, and 3 district in Vitebsk) have been established in the region for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus, comprising 287 people. District and city executive committees have established 672 polling stations and the same number of precinct commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus, comprising over 8 thousand people.
