Union parliamentarians in Vitebsk will discuss the creation of unified electricity and gas markets for Belarus and Russia
The formation of unified electricity and gas markets of Belarus and Russia will be discussed on February 14 in Vitebsk at a meeting of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia for Energy. This was reported to sb.by correspondent by the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.
Information on the results of the implementation of the Decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of November 4, 2021 No. 6 "On the main directions of implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State for 2021–2023" regarding the union program for the formation of a unified electricity market of the Union State and the union program for the formation of a unified gas market of the Union State will be presented for the deputies' consideration.
As reported by the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly, the meeting of the commission will be attended by the Minister of Energy of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Sorokin, representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the government of the Smolensk region.
Within the framework of the meeting, the union parliamentarians will also discuss issues of interregional cooperation between the Vitebsk and Smolensk regions. For the purpose of patriotic education of the younger generation and the formation of patriotic feelings in them, deputies of Belarus and Russia will consider the issue of preparing a new event of the Union State "If your name is 'Kizhevatovets' – strengthen your name with your deeds," dedicated to the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Mitrofanovich Kizhevatov, a defender of the Brest Fortress during the Great Patriotic War.
