Athletes from the Vitebsk region won medals at the athletics throwing competitions in Brest
The open republican athletics throwing competitions in memory of Honored Coach of the USSR Yevgeny Shukevich were held in Brest, as reported by the website of the Belarusian Athletics Federation. The competitions were held in different age groups. Following the results, athletes from the Vitebsk region won 11 medals, including 3 gold ones.
Traditionally for such competitions, hammer throwers secured the lion's share of the awards. At the current event, they have 9 medals. Let's name the winners. In the men's hammer throw competition, Yuri Vasilchenko became the best. In the same athletic discipline, in the competition for girls born in 2009 and younger, Veronika Shcherbenok took first place. Our compatriots won another gold medal in the discus throw competition for girls born in 2007-2008 (Ulyana Erasheva).
The Vitebsk region throwers also have 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
