Three pickets were held in Orsha at once. Initiative groups note that voter activity is not declining
Here, signature collection groups were set up for the incumbent President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, Sergey Syrankov, and individual entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya.
Lyudmila Knypik, a member of the initiative group for collecting signatures for the incumbent President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, admits that this is her third presidential campaign, so she has something to compare with.
– The activity has noticeably increased, – says the woman. – Everyone is benevolent, people are putting their "autographs" in a good mood, consciously. I see a significantly increased level of political maturity of our citizens. People understand the value of peaceful skies above their heads, stability, and tranquility. Some lament that they don't have their passports with them. But nevertheless, they go home and return with the document to sign for the candidate. Some share what concerns them and how they would like to see their leader. Therefore, I will add that pickets are not just signature collection, but a kind of platform for public dialogue.
For example, friends and colleagues Olga and Tatyana said that participating in elections at all stages is the duty of everyone who cares about the future. The girls went to the store after work to buy groceries, saw the pickets, and without hesitation decided to support their candidate.
– We are signing for peace, stability, and reliability, – they stated their choice. – The future President, above all, must be fair, decent, a man of his word, and a strong leader.
Sergey Voznyak, a member of Anna Kanopatskaya's initiative group, says that the signature collection for his candidate is not as active as it was in 2020.
– Nevertheless, our initiative groups maintain a pace of up to 4,000 signatures per day, – he notes. – People's activity is higher in the regions than in the capital. Some are ideologically motivated and consciously sign for Anna Kanopatskaya, while others support all candidates at once. Some are interested in the biography of the individual entrepreneur.
Konstantin Antashkevich from Orsha has studied her biography thoroughly. He confidently signed for the woman candidate.
– I will vote for peaceful changes, for the prosperity of our country, – he said.
Sergey Zhudro, coordinator of Sergey Syrankov's election headquarters for the Orsha district, confidently states that communists care about the future course of the country.
– We see the current socio-political situation in the world. Maintaining the current course towards building social justice in the country is in line with our position, – he notes.
18-year-old Arina proudly reports that the upcoming elections will be her first time voting.
– I was going to buy some treats for dinner and didn't miss this important stage of the electoral campaign. I am concerned about everything related to the future of my country, I want to be involved in all events. Supporting a presidential candidate with a signature is also important. All this is for freedom and independence, peace and stability.
