Details of new projects at "Slavianski Bazaar" have become known

In the Summer Amphitheater today, a press conference was held by the organizers of the upcoming jubilee international festival of arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

Gleb Lapitsky, General Director of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Center and Director of the Arts Festival, stated that the previously announced projects, contests, and concerts will take place. More than 30 participants are planning to take part in the adult and children's contests. The current concert poster with the list of participants can be followed on the official festival website.

Petr Podgursky, Head of the Culture Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, noted that national culture from the region's districts will also contribute to the festival's atmosphere. "All regions will participate in projects on many festival venues. The Philharmonic, the Regional Center for Folk Art, and museums have prepared a splendid program," he emphasized.

According to tradition, a fair will operate in Zadvine, and the "City of Masters" will be located on Pushkin and Suvorov streets. The works of artists, artisans, and folk craftsmen will enrich the streets of the festival city. Five exhibitions will open at the Regional Museum of Local Lore during the "Slavianski Bazaar". Philatelic exhibits from 80 collections of collectors from different countries will be presented to the public. An exhibition of Khokhloma painting and embroidery will be brought from Russia. During the forum days, the museum will operate longer than usual.

Ekaterina Labuko, Director of the Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art, announced that a competition of majorettes and drummers will be held in the city. A competition of traditional everyday dances "Tanchym Razam" (Let's Dance Together) will be organized on Freedom Square, gathering about 500 participants. "We want to hold a flash mob with them: together with dance groups in national costumes, we will form a large round dance, and then walk through the city streets. After all, contestants from different parts of the country will come to us, all in costumes of their region, which differ in color diversity," added Ekaterina Labuko, noting that the mass procession of participants will be a bright event and will add national flavor to the festival. In addition to Belarusians, groups from Ukraine and Russia plan to participate in folk projects.

Brass bands will perform on the venues of Vitebsk, and a competition of clay toys and master classes on their creation will be held. The organizers also plan to launch an open-air cinema with "Belarusfilm". For the theater audience, the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater will present its program. The Belarusian Theater "Lyalka" will present its popular "Puppet Quarter" for the eighth time. Creative groups from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine will show performances for children and adult audiences. The Vitebsk Philharmonic Society is preparing a jazz project, as well as concerts by its ensembles. The "Mazurino" park will host a car audio championship and the Holi Fest color festival. Organizers also invite you to Youth Day.

"Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 14 to July 19. The grand opening ceremony of the festival will take place on July 15, and the closing ceremony on July 18.
