Taisiya Povaliy awarded the President of Belarus prize "Through Art - to Peace and Mutual Understanding"

People's Artist of Ukraine and Ingushetia Taisiya Povaliy was awarded the special prize of the President of Belarus "Through Art - to Peace and Mutual Understanding". The Head of State Alexander Lukashenko presented it to the singer during the grand opening of the XXVIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

Alexander Lukashenko noted that "Slavianski Bazaar", which has seen a whole generation grow over 28 years, is full of good traditions. And one of them is to honor wonderful artists on the opening day, whose work contributes to strengthening friendship between peoples. "This year, we are presenting the special award "Through Art - to Peace and Mutual Understanding" to an outstanding singer and a good friend not only of Belarus, but also of Russia - People's Artist of Ukraine Taisiya Povaliy. She has a special story: at one time she became the winner of the young performers' competition on this stage, and today her name has deservedly shone on the Alley of Stars of our "Bazaar", - said the President.

The Head of State wished that Taisiya Povaliy's creative path would become a worthy example for all who are taking their first steps in the world of music, including for Belarus's representative Ksenia Galetskaya, who became the winner of the Grand Prix of the international children's music competition "Vitebsk-2019". The young singer also received her award from the President's hands. "I would like the fate of this prize-winner to turn out exactly like Taisiya Povaliy's," - added Alexander Lukashenko.

Taisiya Povaliy admitted that receiving the special award of the President of Belarus was a very important event for her. "The fact that I am receiving it on Belarusian soil is also very important to me, because it is here that everything is done for the sake of peace, friendship and mutual understanding between people," - emphasized the singer.
