An educational and practical center for precision agriculture has opened in the Vitebsk region

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, took part in the grand opening ceremony of the educational and practical center for precision farming in the Vitebsk region.

The facility is located in the village of Buyany and is one of the stages of the UP "Vitebskoblgaz" strategy aimed at implementing the concept of using individual elements of precision farming technology and digital systems in the fields of SPK "Mazolvagas". The center is equipped with everything necessary for effective training of agricultural enterprise employees, taking into account the most modern approaches. In particular, it houses a park of drones and special simulators.

The use of drones in agriculture will allow for targeted treatment of specific field areas, significantly reducing water consumption and increasing the coverage of plants and pests with protective agents, noted the General Director of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" Petr Shershen. Drones will also be used in the gas industry.

— This is the future of the agro-industrial complex. Technologies can simplify the hard work of a farmer and increase his efficiency, the prestige of the profession among young people, — said Alexander Subbotin. — I am sure this is not the last such center: they should appear throughout the region.
