The opening of the second stage of the iron removal station took place in the agro-town of Zubki, Liozno district.
The second construction phase included the construction of water supply networks on Dobromysl'yanskaya, Stroiteley, Stantsionnaya, Uglovskogo, 1st Kommunal'naya streets and others, where about half of the district center's residents live, as well as in the agro-town of Zubki.
– The opening of the iron removal station in the urban-type settlement of Liozno is undoubtedly a very important event not only for the district but for our entire region. After all, a project of this scale was last implemented in the Vitebsk region about 5 years ago. More than 4 million rubles were spent, and a huge amount of work was done – about 9.5 km of networks were laid, and much more. The main thing is that today we can confidently say that the residents of Liozno and the agro-town of Zubki have received clean, high-quality, and tasty water that will be delivered without interruption, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. – New iron removal stations will appear in 13 more agro-towns of the district, and by 2024-2025, all work within the framework of implementing the subprogram "Clean Water" of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment" will be completed.
The facility is very important and long-awaited for the residents of this settlement and the entire district center. Over the past ten years, the construction of multi-apartment and individual residential buildings in Liozno has been actively carried out. Anomalously high ambient air temperatures also had an effect, resulting in a sharp increase in the load on water supply facilities, including the iron removal station equipment. Thus, during peak hours, there was a lack of water on the upper floors of multi-story buildings, or it was supplied to the distribution network with deviations from the standards (drinking water contained turbidity and increased iron content, the presence of which was explained by the limited capacity of existing water management structures and devices).
At one time, with the participation of the head of the regional parliamentary corps, a decision was made to construct water supply facilities with an iron removal station in Liozno and the possibility of connecting to the water supply system of the agrotown of Zubki.
In January 2023, as part of the implementation of the investment program "Clean Water in the Vitebsk Region," the first commissioning complex was implemented. It included two artesian wells, a water treatment station with a capacity of 40 cubic meters per hour, two clean water tanks, as well as the construction and replacement of water pipeline sections on Dobromyslskaya and Chkalov streets in Liozno. The cost of construction and installation work amounted to more than 2 million 80 thousand rubles.
The implementation of the investment project has not only increased the reliability of the water supply system and minimized cases of supplying water of inadequate quality to consumers in the district center, but also provided residents of the agrotown of Zubki, with a population of about 500 people, with high-quality drinking water that fully meets consumer properties.
As part of the implementation of the "Clean Water" investment program, iron removal stations have been commissioned and are operating in the Liozno district alone, providing high-quality drinking water to residents of the settlements of Adamanki, Pushki, Kovali, Novoye Selo, Chernoruchye, Vyshochany, Krynki.
