Mothers who gave birth on the 85th anniversary of the Vitebsk region were congratulated at the regional maternity hospital
– This is a holiday not only for the family, but also a holiday for all of us, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov. – It is truly wonderful that on such a day – the 85th anniversary of the Vitebsk region – 20 babies were born in the Vitebsk region. They are the ones who will glorify our region for the next 85 years. We sincerely hope that the children will grow up to be strong, healthy, robust, and skilled individuals. At the beginning of their life journey, we are very pleased to present them with gifts. And throughout their lives, they will feel support, as we have a socially oriented state, and much is being done to support families: both those who have their first child and large families. The list of preferences is very extensive, and I believe that our young people should not be afraid to give birth and raise a child, but feel very secure, as they are under the protection of the state. The regions will support our initiative, and all mothers who gave birth on the day of celebration for the Vitebsk region will receive gifts.

As Elena Leonovich, chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital, told a correspondent of "VV", four children were born at the institution on January 15: 3 girls and one boy. It is symbolic that their parents represent different parts of the Vitebsk region – Bogushevsk, Novopolotsk, Postavy, and Senno. In total, 20 children were born in the Vitebsk region on this day – 7 boys and 13 girls.
