Five boarding schools in the Vitebsk region have returned to normal operation

In five nursing homes in the Vitebsk region, the shift-based work method has been replaced with a regular one, reported Vera Astapenko, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee.

Nursing homes in the Vitebsk region are gradually transitioning from complete isolation to a regular schedule. "Five social institutions in the Vitebsk region have already returned to their normal operating procedures: Polotsk, Lunacharsky, Alexandrovsky, and Selyutsky psycho-neurological nursing homes for the elderly and disabled, and the Vitebsk nursing home for the elderly and disabled. The shift-based work method is being phased out in institutions where at least 75% of employees and residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19," noted Vera Astapenko.

The vaccination campaign for residents and employees of nursing homes is ongoing. As of March 25, about 1.5 thousand people have been vaccinated against coronavirus, including over 600 residents. There are no cases of illness among the wards of the nursing homes, and everyone feels well after receiving the vaccine.

The issue of a phased return to a regular work schedule for 16 social institutions in the region is being addressed, including 10 nursing homes and 4 round-the-clock care departments of district territorial centers for social services to the population.

"The epidemiological situation in social service institutions is stable and is under constant control of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee. The transition of such institutions to a regular work schedule is coordinated with the Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health. In the near future, we plan to transition another 5 nursing homes to a regular schedule," emphasized Vera Astapenko.
