Approximately 2.8 billion rubles will be directed to the economic development of the Vitebsk region in 2021

Approximately Br2.8 billion in investments, which is over $1 billion, will be directed towards the development of the Vitebsk region's economy in 2021. This was announced today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at the opening of the ninth International Economic Forum "Innovations. Investments. Prospects."

According to him, these funds will create over 3,000 new jobs and launch innovative production facilities in mechanical engineering, woodworking, and agribusiness. All plans and proposals from the Vitebsk region for investors, as well as information on production sites and land plots offered for various initiatives, are available on the forum's website in the public domain, the head of the region emphasized:

- We are open to those who are focused on creation and building an effective business, and we offer our support for investment and innovation projects in any sector. We have extensive experience in implementing the boldest and sometimes unexpected ideas. We are ready to support your endeavors in practically all areas, and we always strive to jointly develop the most effective technological and organizational solutions.

Nikolai Sherstnev also stressed that Belarus is a country with an open economy, therefore, product competitiveness is a crucial factor for the country's successful operation in both domestic and foreign markets.

Due to the restrictions caused by the epidemiological situation, the forum organizers had to adopt a new format for holding forums this year, an online mode. The head of the region expressed confidence that video communication will not prevent participants from exchanging experiences in addressing the issues that the economy faces today and that the market dictates.

"The electronic platform of the forum, which we offered you today, will not cease to operate on December 4, but will function in permanent access for everyone who wants to get information about our region and realize themselves in the Vitebsk land," emphasized Nikolai Sherstnev.
