В Витебске БРСМ подвел итоги 2020 года и обозначил планы на 2021
New ideas and concrete actions unite the brightest youth of Belarus. In Vitebsk, the BRSM summed up the results of 2020 and outlined plans for 2021. The XVII plenum of the BRSM regional committee was attended by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich, Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Alexandra Goncharova, First Secretary of the BRSM Regional Committee Vladimir Babichev, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee Gennady Egorov, Rector of the Regional Institute for the Development of Education Olga Lapatinskaya.

In his report, the First Secretary of the BRSM Regional Committee Vladimir Babichev presented the results of the organization's work for the past year.

An important area of youth activity in 2020 was volunteering. Thus, volunteers from Vitebsk region are making a significant contribution to the development of the country's volunteer movement. According to the results of the annual republican competitions "Volunteer of the Year" and "Youth for Clean Cities and Villages," 12 awards were received by the northern region of the country.
The organization of student work crews is one of the priorities in Vitebsk region. This has been repeatedly noted at the republican level. Participants of student work crews annually work at socially significant facilities and youth construction projects. In terms of numbers, more than 4,000 people were employed in 2020. For example, youth from Vitebsk worked as part of construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental and service, medical, and other crews.

It is worth noting that 2020 was a landmark year for the entire Belarusian people, marked by the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which was reflected in all areas of the BRSM's activities. Despite the difficult epidemiological conditions, events were held in all regions of the oblast within the framework of the "Flowers of Great Victory" project. Symbols of Victory in the form of boutonnieres served as a reminder of the people's great heroic past, not only on the chests of veterans, war participants, and rally attendees at memorials to Soviet soldier-victors, but also in social media materials, where online challenges such as "75 Songs About the War," a book trailer contest, and others were organized for youth on memorable dates.

On the eve of Independence Day, as part of the republican project "Dzen Vyshvanki," the oblast organization of the BRSM held "Niedzelya Vyshvanki," filled with various events: campaigns "Padary nemaulyati vyshyvanku," "Vyaselle v vyshyvanci," bike rides "rovar.by," festive concerts, and the operation of thematic platforms.

Speaking about the prospects for 2021, Vladimir Babichev informed about plans to promptly post information about events held and to create high-quality and useful content for youth.

– We need to ensure productive work of youth information groups to identify and solve their problems, – noted Vladimir Gennadievich. – It is necessary to work on finding and implementing new, relevant forms of online work and accessible, creative online projects, as well as to participate in managing Telegram channels as a unified source of information about the region for the population.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Oblast, Anatoly Linevich, expressed gratitude for the significant work done last year. Speaking about working with young personnel, he emphasized the importance of their effective motivation and training.

– Of course, you have done a considerable amount of work, but we would like to see even more, – noted Anatoly Linevich. – I would like to highlight the positive aspects and touch upon the negative ones, which will serve as an incentive for your actions in the future. 2020 was a challenging year. But BRSM withstood this test with dignity. Due to the pandemic, we had to reduce personal interactions and focus more on online platforms, for which you were not sufficiently prepared. This is one of the areas that needs to be addressed this year. The internet resource must be utilized to the maximum today. We need to adopt the experience of our neighbors in Russia; their work in this area is at a high level. Life does not stand still; we need to change something and keep pace with the times.
