Vitebsk honored the best medical workers of the region

Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin expressed his immense gratitude to medical workers for their labor and specifically noted the Vitebsk State Medical University, calling it not only an adornment of the region but also a pearl of republican significance. Alexander Subbotin assured that medicine will continue to receive great attention from the regional authorities.
Vitebsk medicine is capable of much, Alexander Subbotin is confident, and it will continue to delight and surprise with its achievements.


For many years of conscientious work in the healthcare system, and for personal contribution to the improvement of medical services for the population of the region, the Honorary Diploma of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee was awarded to Lyudmila Kovaleva, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee; Valery Denisenko, Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Specialized Center; Alla Semenido, Senior Nurse of the Surgical Department of the Beshenkovichi Central District Hospital; and Anna Stepanova, Deputy Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Endocrinology Dispensary.

The Honorary Diploma of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus was presented to Elena Leonovich, Chief Physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital, by Anatoly Linevich, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region.

– We celebrate Medical Worker's Day in the year when Belarus's healthcare marks its 103rd anniversary. The number 103 has become a symbol for every Belarusian of help, salvation, and hope in medicine that prioritizes the patient's health and life, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, in his speech. – Over the past year, the healthcare of Vitebsk region has significantly advanced in the quality and accessibility of medical care, modernization of diagnostic services, implementation of modern technologies, and development and expansion of the scope of medical services. The accessibility of quality medical care is ensured in compliance with state standards in all districts of the region. With the pandemic receding, we have reactivated preventive examinations and medical check-ups. Our goal is effective prevention and early detection of diseases. We strive to reach every patient.

For fruitful, conscientious work, high professionalism, significant personal contribution to the provision of highly qualified medical care and successful fulfillment of the tasks facing the Ministry of Health, the badge "Excellent Healthcare Professional of the Republic of Belarus" was awarded to Nikolai Belyavsky, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Vitebsk State Medical University, Viktor Kurash, Head of the Therapeutic Department of Verkhnedvinsk Central District Hospital, Lyudmila Zorichius, Head of the Parafyanovo General Practitioner Outpatient Clinic of Dokshitsy Central District Hospital, Elena Kurnosova, Senior Nurse of the Surgical Department of Dubroven Central District Hospital, Zhanna Solovey, Senior Nurse of the Infectious Diseases Department of Novopolotsk City Hospital, Zhanna Maskina, Head of the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory of Vitebsk City Central Polyclinic, Elena Belyaeva, Ultrasound Diagnostics Doctor of the Department of Functional and Ultrasound Diagnostics of Vitebsk Regional Diagnostic Center, and others.

Following the results of the work for 2021, a competition was held in healthcare institutions to nominate candidates for the title "Doctor of the Year of the Republic of Belarus". In the "pediatrician" nomination, Elena Stepanets, a pediatric neurologist at the pediatric neurology department of the Polotsk Central City Hospital, became the winner. In the "therapist" nomination – Victoria Cherkasova, head of the cardiology department of the Novopolotsk Central City Hospital. In the "surgeon" nomination – Alexander Siyatkovsky, head of the department of surgical hepatology and transplantation of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital. In the "obstetrician-gynecologist" nomination – Olga Strukovа, head of women's clinic No. 1 of the city maternity hospital of the Orsha Central District Polyclinic. In the "general practitioner" nomination – Marina Klakotskaya, a general practitioner at the Lepel Central District Hospital.

A number of medical workers received awards from the industry trade union and VSMU.
