A new hockey season has begun in Vitebsk
Solemn events dedicated to the start of the new hockey season were held at the Vitebsk Ice Palace. They were attended by heads of the region and the city. First, the hockey club "Vitebsk", which won the Saley Cup for the second year in a row, was honored, followed by the opening of a workout area in the courtyard of the Ice Palace.
- If you win, every resident of the region wins, - noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, congratulating the team. - Even people far from hockey were rooting for you. And I rewatched your final match twice. Thank you very much for the Cup. You are already two-time winners. This is a good tradition. I think you are capable of winning the national championship this year as well.
During the solemn ceremony, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee presented the team with a cake.
During the grand opening ceremony of the workout area, Alexander Subbotin expressed his hope that this facility will contribute to the emergence of new competition winners:
- We thanked the team that won the Saley Cup for the second year in a row, - said the chairman of the regional executive committee. - And I think this facility will help to train the next generation of champions even better, who will win not only in our country but also far beyond its borders.
Also, during the grand opening ceremony of the workout area, Alexander Subbotin presented HC "Vitebsk" with the keys to a new ice resurfacer, which can be used for resurfacing rinks and clearing snow.
The honor to solemnly open the new sports facility was given to Alexander Subbotin, Assistant to the President of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Igor Brylo, Chairman of the City Executive Committee Nikolai Orlov, Head of the Administration of the Pervomaysky District of Vitebsk Yevgeny Semyonyshev, Head of the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Regional Executive Committee Vasily Zakharevich, and Director of HC "Vitebsk" Ruslan Solodkin.
The Director of the Children and Youth Sports School of HC "Vitebsk", Alexey Kulinich, told a correspondent of "VV" about the new facility.
- This is a multifunctional strength training ground. There are 16 types of exercise equipment. Both students of the Children and Youth Sports School of HC "Vitebsk", starting from the youngest, and players of the adult team will be able to train here. There are mainly exercise machines for developing arm muscles. But there is also equipment for the whole body. This facility was donated by the Presidential Sports Club.
