Winners of the XXXIII International Festival of Modern Choreography Named in Vitebsk
The Grand Prix of the festival was awarded to the dance theatre "Prospekt" from Tyumen for their work "Every action breeds a counteraction". While awarding the winners, the chairman of the jury, Honored Artist of Russia, principal dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre, and chief ballet master of the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus, Igor Kolb, noted that he personally tried to live through all the stories offered by the participants.
The project of Evgenia Nikolaychuk from Minsk and the Mogilev folk choreography ensemble "Alesya" shared the first prize. The second prize was awarded to the Tula collective - the dance company "NIKA dance company" and the project of Denis Chernyshov from Chelyabinsk. The Minsk dance theatre "Altana" was awarded the third prize of the international competition of modern choreography.
Several collectives received individual IFMC awards. In particular, the special prize of Evgeny Panfilov was awarded to Valentin Isakov's project "X-periments" and the N.F. Sokolovsky Gomel State College of Arts. The "Perspective" special prize went to the ensemble of the choreography department of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. The contemporary dance troupe "Samruk" from Almaty was awarded the special prize "For stylistic diversity in the repertoire". The Ekaterinburg dance company "Dennitsa" was separately awarded a special prize "For the use of folk root culture in contemporary dance".
The International Festival of Modern Choreography IFMC was held in Vitebsk from November 23 to 27.
