Competitions in Thai boxing of the II CIS Games have officially started in Vitebsk
The Summer Amphitheater became the arena for the sports battles in the regional center. On its stage, which had previously hosted only creative groups from different countries of the world, a ring for Muay Thai bouts was installed for the II Games of the CIS Countries.

66 fighters from Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan will participate in the competitions. As stated by Ekaterina Reut, the national team's head coach in Eastern martial arts, the athletes are divided into 14 weight categories, of which 10 are represented by men in the youth group. Junior female athletes will also compete for the championship titles at the II CIS Games in Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is characterized by its spectacular nature and strict rules defined by the International Federation of Muaythai Associations. As noted by representatives of the coaching and judging staff, the main requirement for athletes is respect for the opponent both in and out of the ring. Despite being a rather tough and injury-prone sport, it is increasingly attracting women. Female athletes are confidently claiming the top spots on the podium, including our compatriots.
The Muay Thai competitions in Vitebsk will run until August 13. The final bouts will take place on Sunday at 11:00 AM. Fans of Eastern martial arts and spectators of all ages are invited to the Summer Amphitheater to cheer for the strongest. Admission is free."BELTA"
