The International Festival of Social Cinema "Obshchezhitiye" has opened in Vitebsk

Within the framework of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival, the solemn opening of the International Festival of Social Cinema "Obshchezhitiye" took place. The initiative came from the Russian Club of Orthodox Patrons, which actively supports the development of domestic cinema. Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia took part in the opening.

Over three days, the following films will be screened: "Sekira," "Mama, I'll Grow Up," "The Gold of Umal'ta," and many others. Admission for viewers is free. In addition to film screenings, everyone can interact with the actors and directors presenting their works.

The festival opening was attended by: Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Ruslan Chernetsky, actress and Chairperson of the Minsk Union of Cinematographers Alexander Gaiduk, member of the Russian Club of Glorified Patrons Alexander Kopelev, and others. All participants expressed gratitude for the assistance in organizing such a significant event and voiced hopes for further fruitful cooperation.

The opening film of the festival was "Belarus. Finding Faith," shot for the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy in Belarusian lands.

The main goal of the festival, as noted by the organizers, is to remind our fraternal peoples of the importance of faith, family, and friendship between countries in the current times.

Domestic cinema plans to release film adaptations of works by domestic writers, as well as films and series about the lives of Belarusians, in the next two years. Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers Evgeny Arendarevich assured that domestic cinema will actively develop.
