Vitebsk celebrated Airborne Forces and Special Operations Forces Day
To congratulate the servicemen and veterans of the airborne and special operations forces, the following attended: Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, Presidential Aide – Inspector for Vitebsk Region Igor Brylo, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Nikolai Orlov, representatives of the Special Operations Forces command, and the unit.
Alexander Subbotin noted that today we honor true patriots of our Motherland, brave and strong-spirited people. Those who have chosen the difficult but responsible service in the airborne forces are true defenders of our Fatherland and continue the glorious traditions of the brigade.
– The history of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade is the pride of our country. Its servicemen defended their native land during the Great Patriotic War, upheld the country's interests in other states under the banners of the Airborne Forces, and today you have to perform the most complex tasks, – noted Alexander Subbotin. – You are an example for the younger generation, and service in the airborne forces of the 103rd Brigade has always been a benchmark for young people. You are the pride of Vitebsk and Vitebsk Region. May your motto "Nobody but us!" be defining not only in your lives but also for all citizens of our wonderful country.
Igor Brylo wished those present good health, success, well-being, and peaceful skies overhead.
After the official part, demonstration performances took place, including those by reconnaissance unit fighters, and several combat episodes were played out. For example, reconnaissance and assault of an enemy strongpoint, and the use of UAVs to support troop actions.
