Vitebsk summed up the results of the regional stage of the "Teacher of the Year" competition

The solemn closing ceremony of the regional stage of the republican competition of professional skills of pedagogical workers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus – 2023" was held in Vitebsk.

– A teacher is a difficult and important profession. The future of our country, its prosperity and power are in your hands. Thanks to the work of educators, the younger generation finds themselves in their profession and achieves success. It can be confidently said that at the past stages, each of you has shown professionalism and determination, – noted the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov. – Today we have selected the 8 best teachers who will represent the northern region at the republican level. I wish each of you success. Thank you for this difficult, but very necessary work!

The winner in the nomination "Biology, Chemistry" was Anna Verevkina, a teacher at Polotsk Secondary School No. 16. Following the example of her grandmother, a primary school teacher, Anna Nikolaevna chose the teaching profession and graduated from Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov.

– I am very happy with my success. Our school helped me a lot in preparation, the entire staff supported me and gave advice, – said Anna Verevkina. – Next is the preparation for the republican stage. I believe in victory and wish every representative of the northern region to become the best in their nomination.

In the "Foreign Language" nomination, the winner was Olga Sinyavskaya, a German language teacher at Orsha Secondary School No. 3. In the "Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics, Computer Science" nomination, the winner was Sergey Baranovsky, a mathematics teacher at Novopolotsk Secondary School No. 15. In the "Music, Fine Arts, Art, National and World Artistic Culture, Labor Training, Technical Drawing, Physical Culture and Health, Pre-conscription Training" nomination, the winner was Ekaterina Romanovskaya, a physical culture and health teacher at Vitebsk Secondary School No. 47 named after E. Ivanovsky. In the "Preschool Educator" nomination, the winner was Olga Savarin, an educator at the preschool children's development center in Polotsk. A diploma of the winner in the "Primary School" nomination was awarded to Oksana Shukalovich, a primary school teacher at Orsha Gymnasium No. 1 named after G. Semenov. In the "Russian Language and Literature, Belarusian Language and Literature" nomination, the winner was Elena Primshits, a Belarusian language and literature teacher at Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 1 named after J. Alfiorov. In the "History, Social Studies, Geography" nomination, the winner was Lyudmila Baranova, a history and social studies teacher at Polotsk Secondary School No. 14.

Olga Lapatinskaya, Rector of the Regional Institute for the Development of Education and Deputy Chairperson of the competition jury, noted that a total of 118 educators from the Vitebsk region participated in the regional stage of the competition, with 24 competing for a place in the super-final. The region will be represented by 8 educators at the republican stage. All of them are professionals, creative, and charismatic.

By the way, this year many young educators competed for the right to be called the best. Previously, the vast majority of participants consisted of candidates with extensive work experience.
