The eighth extraordinary session of the regional Council of Deputies was held in Vitebsk
These issues were discussed at the eighth extraordinary session of the Regional Council of Deputies of the 29th convocation.
– Harvesting is currently being completed, and the sowing campaign is underway, and to ensure their successful implementation, a number of budget adjustments are necessary, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, opening the meeting.
Deputies decided to allocate additional resources to the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee for land reclamation work to restore reclaimed lands in the amount of 3 million rubles, for subsidizing the current activities of agricultural producers and purchasing fuel and lubricants – 5 million rubles, the same amount – for purchasing fuel. Part of the funds will be directed to pay for a set of works on liming acidic soils.
Thanks to the adjustments, it is planned to fulfill the target indicators of the regional complex of measures for the implementation of the State Program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025, and successfully complete the harvesting and sowing campaigns.
Funds will also be sought for material support of citizens during job search and for the organization of temporary employment for about 500 minors during their free time from studies.
At the extraordinary session, the results of the preliminary review of civil initiative projects aimed at improving life in small towns and settlements were discussed. Deputies voted to send socially significant projects to the Vitebsk Regional Association of Local Councils of Deputies for their open competitive selection.
– The topic of implementing civic initiatives is quite topical, – noted the head of the regional parliamentary corps. – It is necessary to make every effort to complete what we have planned by the end of the year. People need this. And today, new ideas should be put forward to improve the lives of the population, so that this useful work can be actively continued in 2025.

For 2024, about 30 thousand rubles are allocated for the financing of civic initiatives from all regions of the Vitebsk region. Of the 23 projects, 17 can be implemented this year.
