A youth forum dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory was held in Vitebsk
The conversation began with a relevant question: "What does the Constitution mean to you?" It is law, justice, and the state – this is how young men and women of the region defined this word in a preliminary survey.
— The ideology of the Belarusian people is laid down in the Constitution, as stated by the President of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, during the solemn ceremony of signing the decision of the republican referendum. And this is indeed true, — noted Marina Novitskaya, head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the regional executive committee.

— This is a great human endeavor, thanks to which we will build the strategic development of our country, — answered Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM.
— The Constitution is a contract between the people and the state, — said Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. — Each of us had the opportunity to express our opinion. There were many proposals. They will definitely be reflected in the country's legislative acts.
— This is our tomorrow, — briefly answered Vladimir Beleevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies.

Also, as part of the meeting, a dialogue was held on the importance of historical memory, and multifaceted definitions of patriotism were given.
— We must not only remember our ancestors but also be proud of them. This needs to be passed on to our children, and then to our grandchildren. This is how we will weave the necklace of our history. Historical memory is a genetic code that will encompass us, — emphasized Marina Novitskaya.

Vladimir Babichev spoke about the events that will take place in the region during the current Year of Historical Memory and in connection with the regional center being granted the status of youth capital. The most active participants made their proposals. For example, to hold a large-scale forum with the Minister of Education of the country, a tourist trip, and a track and field marathon. All events will be reflected in the Google calendar, which everyone can access, promised Vladimir Babichev.
The event concluded with a competition on spill-maps, where participants had to assemble a map of our country from small puzzles. In addition, a master class on "vytinanka" (paper cutting) was organized for the meeting participants. Young people cut out a bird from paper, a symbol of happiness and spring.
