In the Vitebsk region, there are 4.9 vacancies per unemployed person

As of March 1, 2021, 1.4 thousand people were registered as unemployed in the Vitebsk region, which is almost 13 percent less than on March 1, 2020 (1.6 thousand people).

The registered unemployment rate as of March 1, 2021, was 0.3 percent and has not changed compared to March 1, 2020.

In January – February 2021, 2.6 thousand people applied to the employment service for assistance in finding employment, of whom 1.7 thousand people were registered as unemployed.

Within the framework of the State Program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" for 2021 – 2025, in January – February 2021:

·                  1.7 thousand people were employed in permanent jobs;

·                  94 people were sent for training in occupations in demand on the labor market

·                  389 people participated in paid public works

·                  6 families of unemployed people were relocated to a new place of residence and work

As of March 1, 2021, employers declared 6.8 thousand vacancies, which is 8.2 percent less than on March 1, 2020 (7.4 thousand) and almost 6 percent more than on January 1, 2021 (6.4 thousand). The demand for workers in blue-collar occupations accounted for 61.9 percent of the total number of vacancies (on March 1, 2020 – 65.1 percent). In the Vitebsk region, there are 4.9 vacancies per unemployed person.

Of the total number of vacancies in the database, about 44 percent are jobs with a salary in the range of 500 to 800 rubles, 10 percent are from 800 to 1000 rubles, and more than 5 percent are above 1000 rubles.

The monitoring conducted showed that the salary depends on the applicant's education and work experience. It should also be noted that about 28 percent of the vacancies declared by employers are vacancies with a salary from 400 to 500 rubles and do not require special education or work experience, i.e.

are unqualified.

The most in-demand professions for employers at the moment are: seamstress, car driver, lumberjack, bricklayer, tile setter, cook, carpenter, salesperson, shoe assembler, turner, miller, electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. Among specialists and employees, there is a constant demand for accountants, engineers, nurses, doctors. In rural areas, demand exists for tractor drivers, milking machine operators, livestock breeders, veterinarians, agronomists, paramedics, foresters.
