In the Vitebsk region, over 300,000 people have registered to participate in the republican subbotnik (volunteer work day) events.

Residents of the region will work at their workplaces or carry out landscaping and restoration of historical and cultural values, settlement territories, and prepare children's health and sports camps for the summer season. In the Vitebsk region, over 300,000 people are expected to participate in the subbotnik events.

The leadership of the Vitebsk region will take part in the improvement of Gagarin Street, which is undergoing large-scale reconstruction. Gagarin Street was chosen as a subbotnik site not by chance. Recently, it was the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight, accomplished by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961.

In addition, in Vitebsk, subbotnik participants will tidy up the territories of the regional clinical center for medical rehabilitation for disabled people and veterans of combat operations in other states, the youth park on Meditsinskaya Street, and others.

In the regions, the sites for applying efforts will include memorial complexes "Proryv" in Ushachi district, "Urochishe Peski" in Polotsk district, "Vishenki" in Chashniki district, a military burial site in the agro-town of Kopty, Vitebsk district, the Alley of Unity in Verkhnedvinsk, and a park dedicated to the Year of National Unity in Beshenkovichi, among others.

50% of the funds earned on the day of the republican subbotnik will be directed to the Ministry of Health to strengthen the material and technical base of medical institutions, including the purchase of equipment for providing planned and emergency medical care to the population, and partial financing of COVID-19 vaccine procurement to ensure the accessibility of vaccination for the population. The remaining 50% will remain at the disposal of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee and will be used for the repair, reconstruction, restoration, and renovation of historical and cultural values, memorial complexes, and sites of military glory from the Great Patriotic War period.
