A cluster for the production of cable products is planned to be created in the Vitebsk region

The initiator of the formation of the innovation entity is OOO "Production Association "Energokomplekt". The enterprise is the largest manufacturer of cable and wire products in Belarus (over 100 thousand types and sizes). The company develops the production of products in four areas: power cables for medium and high voltage (up to 220 thousand volts), kilovolt group cables, control cables and wires, including control cables, and cables and wires for self-supporting insulated power lines. At the same time, "Energokomplekt" is interested in joint work with polyethylene producers, equipment for the production of power and optical cables, as well as with suppliers of copper and aluminum raw materials.

In total, medical and pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and composite clusters operate in the region. Currently, they unite 25 organizations, and by 2025, their number is planned to increase to 30 entities. In the current five-year period, the main activities of the medical and pharmaceutical cluster will be the development of existing and the formation of new production sites in order to improve the supply of vital medicines to the population, enhance the competitiveness of pharmaceutical enterprises, and create conditions for the full-cycle production of drugs. The petrochemical cluster development strategy focuses on innovative developments and the creation of new types of petrochemical products, improving the characteristics of manufactured fuels, and improving technologies that allow for the production of higher quality and more expensive products in order to increase their competitiveness.

Additionally, a woodworking cluster is being formed. Its initiator is the administration of the FEZ "Vitebsk", and its participants are enterprises - residents of the FEZ, implementing projects in woodworking, as well as the Vitebsk State Technological University, the Vitebsk State Technological College, and the Vitebsk Regional Center for Professional Development of Managers and Specialists in Housing and Communal Services. The cluster participants have at their disposal the capabilities of the board product testing center, operating on the basis of the central factory laboratory of OJSC "Vitebskdrev", which has joined the cluster initiative. The laboratory has the necessary accreditations for monitoring the quality and testing of wood-based panel materials for compliance with European and international standards.
