In the Vitebsk region, vaccination of people from the risk group with the Sputnik V vaccine will continue

The vaccination of medical workers, teachers, and social workers with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will continue in the Vitebsk region, as reported by Vladimir Sinkevich, Chief Physician of the Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health.

"Another batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the Vitebsk region yesterday. It will be used to vaccinate people from risk groups. These include employees of healthcare, education, and social protection institutions. Citizens over 61 years old with a number of chronic diseases will also be able to get vaccinated with it," the chief sanitary doctor of the region said.

Recently, there has been no downward trend in coronavirus incidence in the Vitebsk region. Therefore, it is not advisable to relax and ignore doctors' recommendations on wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

"The incidence rate and dynamics of COVID-19 in the region are constantly analyzed and are under the control of specialists. Healthcare workers, in cooperation with other services, are carrying out a full range of measures to prevent coronavirus. With the onset of warm weather, it is more important than ever to minimize the risks of infection. It is necessary to reduce contacts outside the home - in stores, transport, and other public places. Social distancing and wearing protective masks continue to be a general requirement for the population," emphasized Vladimir Sinkevich.

It is also important to remember personal hygiene rules: hands should be washed thoroughly and regularly treated with an antiseptic.
