The 'Cherry Festival' was held in Glubokoye
The ethno-party "In the Cherry Orchard" gathered participants and spectators in the central square of the district center. To begin with, representatives of different diasporas and countries started with a dance acquaintance with the creative teams of the Glubokoye region. Glubokoye established a sisterhood relationship with guests from Russia, China, and other regions of Belarus.
Each participant of the ethno-party presented their cultural traditions. Chinese students from Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov performed traditional songs and recited poems. The subtle Chinese poetry needed no translation, as every listener understood it with their heart. The young people learned about the berry festival at their alma mater and readily responded to the invitation to participate in the celebration. They liked Glubokoye very much. They also had an important mission – to try the local selective cherries, as the taste of this berry in their homeland is completely different.
The ensemble from Uvarovo, Tambov Region, focused on folk songs, primarily about cherries, as this berry is near and dear to them like no other. The city is the cherry capital of Russia, and it also hosts a cherry festival, albeit more gastronomic in nature. Uvarovo's "cherries," as they were nicknamed in Glubokoye, have been delighting their colleagues and friends with colorful costumes and vibrant creative performances for many years.
The games and amusements pleased not only the participants of the ethno-party but also the spectators, who thanked them for the cheerful performance with hearty applause. The hosts of the festival showed what cherry hospitality can be like and that new friends are welcome in the land of Glubokoye.
A royal limousine, an 11-meter train, foreign delegations, cherry smiles – participants of the berry festival paraded through the streets of Glubokoye with a theatrical procession.
The second day of the International Festival "Cherry Festival" in Glubokoye began with a theatrical procession. Before the start of the solemn procession, families who celebrated 5 and 10 years of marriage, concluded at the branded event, were honored at the cherry monument.By tradition, the procession was led by the Cherry Queen. She arrived to greet the guests in a luxurious white limousine and led the festival attendees. This year, her regal attire was complemented by an 11-meter-long train – this number corresponds to the number of years the festival has been celebrated.
Representatives of foreign delegations walked in the column towards the concert venue on the shore of Kagala Lake. Long-time guests of the berry fest include beauties from the Russian city of Uvarovo, representatives of diasporas from Moldova, Korea, and Dagestan, and students from China studying in Vitebsk. Guests from Zhlobin and districts of the Vitebsk region also joined the procession. Some of them visited the "Cherry Festival" for the first time, while others come here regularly, not only for the sweet Glubokoye cherry but also for the atmosphere of friendship, brotherhood, and unity.
For example, artisans from Sharkovshchina, which is located just 25 km from the cherry capital of Belarus, annually add their apple note to the festival - these garden fruits, according to the festival's friends, combine well in color, taste, and beneficial properties. People from Moldova arrived in national costumes, one of the elements of which are vests with embroidered cherries. In a word, everyone tried to get into the berry trend and maximally correspond to the surroundings and the Glubokoye festival.-0-
