Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov congratulated all Christians of the Catholic confession and personally Bishop of Vitebsk Oleg Butkevich on the feast of the Resurrection of Christ. The meeting took place in the Cathedral of Jesus the Merciful in Vitebsk.

– This is a wonderful holiday that people look forward to because it carries a deep spiritual meaning. In our multinational country, believers of different faiths are respected. There are many mixed families where the husband is Orthodox and the wife is Catholic, and harmony reigns in them. And what is needed for life? Peace, mutual understanding, love, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov.

The head of the Vitebsk Catholic Diocese emphasized that the feast of the Resurrection of Christ is a feast of the victory of life over death, good over evil.

– This holiday carries the idea of uniting man with God, with himself, uniting people, which is especially relevant today both in our country and in the whole world, – emphasized Oleg Butkevich.

The bishop also noted: it is important that, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, we break down the wall of hostility and build bridges between loved ones and throughout the world.

During the Easter days, it is customary to help the poor, people in difficult situations, the sick, and children.
