Vyacheslav Durnov: 'Decisions made by local authorities are people-oriented and based on direct dialogue'
According to Vyacheslav Durnov, the decisions made by local authorities are people-oriented and based on direct dialogue. Over the nine months of 2024, local executive and administrative bodies received over 28,000 appeals, which is 9.5% more than in the same period of 2023.
As part of working with the public, personal receptions of citizens and representatives of legal entities are held, including offsite events. Citizens actively resolve their issues locally, and deputies of local Councils play an important role in this process, participating in monthly receptions and meetings with the public.
The main problems of concern to residents are related to the repair and maintenance of housing stock, as well as the street road network. The restoration of road surfaces requires significant budget expenditures, and repair plans are also formed taking into account citizens' appeals.
In 2024, the region plans to build 41 iron removal stations to provide the population with quality drinking water. Vyacheslav Durnov noted that the transfer of water supply and sewerage facilities, which are on the balance of agricultural organizations, to the balance of specialized organizations is a complex task. In this regard, he proposed to consider the possibility of legislative simplification of the process of transferring these facilities without legal documentation, which is practically impossible under current conditions.
Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, supported the initiative to transfer iron removal stations, emphasizing that their maintenance should be carried out by qualified specialists to avoid deterioration of the facilities in the future.
