The Vitebsk region has a whole cluster in petrochemistry; a project for deeper oil refining has been completed, and petrochemical specialists are already closely looking towards petrochemistry itself and what can be obtained from oil (namely, various chemical compounds from which clothing, plastic, etc. are produced). "This is a prospect for the development of the plant," the governor believes.
Alexander Subbotin also said that Vitebsk has a huge cluster for hydraulic lifts. "Moreover, in these difficult sanction times, they are building and commissioned another plant for high-tonnage cranes this year. That is, they are developing," noted the head of the regional executive committee.

JSC "Vitebskiye Kovry" is also getting a new lease on life. "It seems carpets are out of fashion, but the enterprise has expanded its range and produces bedside rugs in various color palettes, and even makes carpet paintings that are not shameful to give as gifts at any level. The enterprise "Vitebskiye Kovry" has found its niche and is experiencing a second birth," stated Alexander Subbotin.
